This is a review talk of little string theory(LST). In this talk, we will cover how to obtain the little string theory from either IIB NS5-branes or IIA NS (or M)5-branes in proper decoupling limit. LST is a 6-dimensional quantum consistent non-gravitational, non-local and non-perturbative string theory. It possesses T-duality, just like the usual string theory, but it is intrinsically non-perturbative, just like the usual 11D M-theory. So understanding of this theory is a first key step towards that of 11D M-theory. |
