Cachazo, He, and Yuan succeeded recently in formulating a scattering theory, for the first time in history as far as I know, without an interaction Lagrangian. In the case of gluon tree scattering, it reproduces the amplitude constructed in the usual way from Feynman diagrams, but the idea and the details are diametrically opposite, and the final arrangement of the terms is different.I will compare the CHY and the Feynman approaches, discuss their similarities and differences. The relevance of the spinor helicity technique will also be touched upon. |
