Water is ubiquitous and plays an important role in many physical, chemical and biological processes. Water displays many surprisingly unusual properties, such as the density maximum at 4 ℃ and compressibility minimum at 46 ℃, which are widely known as “water’s anomalies”. A lot of efforts have been devoted to the understanding of such anomalies, but the physics behind is still under debate. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction of our two-state model and show how to understand water’s anomalies by the two-state model. |
