Abstract

In this talk I will review recent progress on soft limits of the scattering amplitudes in gauge and gravity theories, including single-soft-photon and -gluon limits up to sub-leading order and single-soft-graviton limit up to sub-sub-leading order, in particular at tree level. I will also discuss soft limits of the amplitudes in N=4 super Yang-Mills and N=8 supergravity in detail. In addition, other related topics will also be mentioned briefly, such as double-soft limits, the scattering equations and ambitwistor strings.
Interestingly, a lot of remarkable progress has also been made on the understanding of the soft theorem from the viewpoint of the symmetry principle. Pujian Mao will explore this topic in the next talk.
