AdS/CFT correspondence, as kind of gravity gauge duality, is naturally suited for addressing the notoriously difficult problem of nonequilibrium systems and thermalization, which is among the five Grand Challenges of the USA Department of Energy. In this talk, I will address some analytical results related to gravitational collapse and thermalization in the hard wall model, the crudest model for the confining theory. In passing, I will also introduce the relevant computational techniques in numerical relativity, which is supposed to be crucial for one to go beyond the regime of validity of our analytical results. |
