Abstract摘要
|
The Statistical thermodynamics have been one of the most successful tools of the physical sciences. A great diversity of physical, chemical and biological systems can be described by the statistical thermodynamics framework. However, only equilibrium properties are suitable for thermodynamic description. Recently, the understanding of non-equilibrium states and non-equilibrium relaxation is becoming important as the next frontier of statistical thermodynamics. The glass transition is the classic example of a system trapped in a non-equilibrium state. In this work I present a self-consistent theory for the description of the fluctuations in thermodynamic systems and their relation with dynamic arrest and glassy behavior. Some applications in colloidal liquids are also presented. |
