Abstract摘要

I shall give a brief introduction to anisotropic scalings of space and time, and their applications to quantum gravity, proposed recently (2009) by Horava, the so-called Horava-Lifshitz (HL) theory. Then, as an application of the theory to the strong gravitational field regime, I shall use distribution theory to study gravitational collapse of a star with finite radius, by paying particular attention on the differences obtained from general relativity and the HL theory.
