Abstract
摘要

In 2009 the Gravitational Wave International Committee set out a 30 year International Roadmap for the field of gravitational wave physics and astronomy. Its #1 priority was the development of long baseline gravitational wave detectors in Australia and Japan. In Japan the KAGRA detector construction has begun. In Australia a site has been provided and a first stage prototype interferometer research facility has been constructed. The location of the southern hemisphere detector is set by the need to obtain maximal baselines between detectors to enable source localisation and noise reduction. This talk will set out the concept of an international state-of-the-art detector that would play a pivotal role in the exploration of the gravitational wave spectrum.
