There is much recent interest in understanding explosive percolation in the past several years. Although the Achlioptas Process which launched the study is now known to yield a continuous transition in the thermodynamic limit, there are still several models which yield discontinuous transitions. In this talk, we generalize our recent results in explosive percolation. We focus on the Bohman-Frieze-Wormald model, a typical model that exhibits discontinuous transition. We discover an underlying mechanism for discontinuous transition and investigate how continuous transition and discontinuous transition can coexist in a system. |
