Abstract

Abstract: A one-to-one correspondence has recently been discovered between certain AdS black brane solutions of Einstein's equations and flows of a particular conformal fluid.  We describe the time-independent vortex solutions of this fluid, both in the (2+1) and (3+1)-dimensional cases. We find that only in the latter case may local equilìbrium be achieved throughout the solution, and so only this solution possesses a naive gravity dual.  The gravity duals are novel AdS funnel solutions.
