经典闭合轨道使光吸收谱作为能量的函数产生震荡，光吸收谱的傅立叶变换叫做回归谱。回归谱中的峰对应原子中电子的闭合轨道。John B. Delos 教授将对过去十多年来“闭合轨道理论”的一些进展进行评述和回顾。他将特别考察对称破缺，从回归谱构建轨道，chirped 傅立叶变换，与势垒上反射相关的非经典闭合轨道及衰变率等问题。
