Dr. Rong-Gen Cai , Professor of the Institute of Theoretical Physics (ITP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Academician of CAS, fellow of the International Society of General Relativity and Gravitation (ISGRG).
1995
He received his Ph.D. degree from Fudan University. Then he did postdoctoral research successively at the ITP-CAS, the Center for Theoretical Physics of Seoul National University, and Physics Department of Osaka University.
2001
He came to ITP/CAS as a faculty with the One Hundred Talent Program of CAS.He was awarded the second place of National Natural Science Award.
2003
He was awarded the distinguished young investigator grant of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
2014 - 2021
He was awarded the Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers and was selected as the Elsevier’s Most Cited Chinese Researchers.
2016
He was selected by the Ten Thousand Talent Program of the Central Government of China.
He is now a standing committee member of Chinese Physics Society (CPS), president of the division of gravitation and relativistic astrophysics of CPS, council member of the International Society of General Relativity and Gravitation, vice-chairman of the division of the gravitation, astrophysics and cosmology of AAPPS, president of the association of gravitation, astrophysics and cosmology of the BRICS countries. He serves as the associate editor-in-chief ofSCIENCE CHINA (Physics, Mechanics& Astronomy)and Communication of Theoretical Physics. He is also the editorial board member for some journals such asMod. Phys. Lett. A, Int. J. Mod. Phys. D, Adv. High. Phys.,Chinese Science Bulletin, etc. He was the member of Advisory Panel of Class. Quant. Grav.
Research
Dr. Cai's research field is gravity and cosmology. He has published more than 310 papers and his H index is 76. His current research interest focuses on holographic property of gravity, black hole physics, early universe physics, dark energy and gravitational wave physics etc.
