The Institute of Theoretical Physics at Chinese Academy of Sciences (ITP-CAS) seeks to fill research faculty positions (permanent and fixed-term positions). Areas of interest include  1) Condensed Matter Theory, 2) Quantum Physics and Quantum Information, 3) Theoretical Nuclear and Particle Physics, Quantum Field Theory, 4) String Theory and physics of the early universe, 5) Gravitational Theory and Astrophysics, 6) Statistical Physics, Theoretical Biophysics and Bioinformatics. Applicants must hold a PhD degree in theoretical physics and have demonstrated ability to conduct outstanding researches. Position  A:

Applicants must have a doctoral degree in theoretical physics and have over-four-consecutive-years of overseas research experience after obtaining the degree. The candidate should have worked as assistant professor or in an equivalent position at an oversea university or research institute. The applicant should be under 40 years old, with a possible extension to 45 years old for extraordinary candidate.

Position B:

Applicants, who hold a doctoral degree in a world-renowned overseas university, should have no less than three years of overseas research experience after obtaining the degree. Applicants, who received a doctoral degree in mainland China, should have no less than five years of overseas research experience. The candidate should be under 40 years old and have a formal position in world-renowned overseas university or research institute.

Eligibility of Fixed- Term Research Associate:

Position A (Junior Research Associate )：Applicants must hold a PhD degree and have over-two-consecutive-years of research experience after obtaining the degree. The applicants should be under 35 years old. The candidates are expected to develop independent research program and have sound academic accomplishments.

Position B (Senior Research Associate)：Applicants must hold a PhD degree and have over- four consecutive years of research experience after obtaining the degree. The applicants should be under 40 years old. The candidates can develop independent research program and have sound academic accomplishments.
