Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ITP-CAS) invites applicants for the position of Director of the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics China (see http://www.kitpc.ac.cn/). We are seeking a Director who will provide global vision, scientific leadership and administrative authority for the KITPC/ITP-CAS. Applicants must have a world-recognized record of accomplishment in research in the areas of theoretical physics and a record of outstanding scientific leadership.  

KITPC was established at ITP in 2006 as an international exchange and cooperation platform. As one of the 17 network members of the Kavli Institutes all over the world, KITPC carries out fundamental research on theoretical physics and interdisciplinary research. It has important roles both nationally and internationally. Nationally, it coordinates basic research on theoretical physics in China and facilitates interaction between theory and experiment, as well as promote research in interdisciplinary areas among physics and other branches of science, such as astrophysics and cosmology, biophysics, nano-science, mathematics, etc. Internationally, it hosts long-term programs, mini-programs and outreach programs, which will promote the interaction of Chinese scientists with their counterparts in other countries.
