An Invitation to Celestial Symmetries
- Title An Invitation to Celestial Symmetries
- Speaker Yang-Rui Hu (BIMSA)
- Date 10:30 AM, Nov. 5, 2025
- Venue Lecture Hall 6620, South Building
This talk will focus on efforts to probe aspects of quantum gravity in asymptotically flat spacetimes through the framework of celestial holography. After a brief introduction to celestial holography, we will dive into some recent developments on its enhanced symmetry structures, which:
(1) reorganize the data in phase space and suggest a natural extension of the conformal collider operators;
(2) necessitate the inclusion of multi-particle operators,whose contributions in OPEs can be derived from non-factorization channels in scattering amplitudes.
Biography
Dr. Yangrui Hu is an Assistant Professor at BIMSA. She earned her Ph.D. in physics from Brown University in 2022, and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Perimeter Institute from 2022 to 2024 and at the University of Waterloo from 2024 to 2025. Her research interests center on theoretical physics, specifically in the areas of high-energy theory, quantum information, and AI+quantum.
