Near-critical quantum system can exhibit exotic excitations. When the quantum critical transverse field Ising chain is perturbed by a longitudinal field, a quantum integrable model emerges with massive excitations described by the E8 Lie algebra, dubbed as quantum E8 integrable model. In this talk, I will provide basic knowledge on the S-matrix bootstrap process for solving the mass spectrum and S-matrix contents of the quantum E8 integrable model. Then, I will show how to use the form factor bootstrap method to solve the matrix elements of certain local operators. I will also discuss the spin dynamics of the quantum E8 integrable model and quantum E8 particles in the quasi-1D antiferromagnet BaCo2V2O8.
Biography
Xiao Wang recently obtained his Ph.D. from the Condensed Matter Division of Tsung-Dao Lee Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, under the supervision of Professor Jianda Wu. His research interests include conformal field theory and integrable models, along with their applications in nonequilibrium systems.
