Topological superconductors are renowned for hosting a special kind of quasiparticles, the Majorana modes, whose antiparticles are themselves. Unconventional superconductors, such as $p$- and $d$-wave superconductors, serve as important platforms for realizing topological superconductivity However, such unconventional superconductors are quite rare in nature. Thus, further exploration for TSCs is necessary.
In the pursuit of TSCs, two key challenges need to be addressed: first, identifying effective platforms for realizing TSCs, and second, developing efficient methods for diagnosing TSCs. In this presentation, we offer solutions to both challenges. We introduce a novel approach to realizing TSCs by combining the most common BCS pairing in nature with band degeneracy, which is fundamentally different from the previous method that utilized TI surface states. Additionally, we propose a diagnostic method specifically designed for the most common A1g pairing symmetry in nature. It is important to note that under this symmetry setting, previous symmetry indicator method is silent, although many topological phases exist from a classification perspective.
