Primordial Black Holes: Statistics, Mass Fraction and Associated Gravitational Waves

03/28 2024 Seminar
  • Title Primordial Black Holes: Statistics, Mass Fraction and Associated Gravitational Waves
  • Speaker Cristiano Germani (Barcelona University)
  • Date 10:00 Mar. 28, 2024
  • Venue 6620
  • Abstract
In this talk I will introduce the statistics of primordial black holes within the realm of gaussian curvature perturbations. I will focus on the PBHs mass function and associated secondary gravitational waves. In passing, I will show that not necessarily an observation of large spectrum of secondary waves in LISA would imply a non-negligible abundance of PBHs.

    Biography
Prof. Cristiano Germani got his PhD in the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation, Portsmouth, in 2003. His PhD supervisor is Prof. Maartens. Then he went to Cambridge University (Hawking’s group, 2003-2006), SISSA (2006-2008), Paris, Observatory (2008-2009), and Munich ASC (Dvali group, 2010-2015) as a postdoc. Since 2015, he works in Barcelona University as an associate professor.
