SL(N) Chern-Simons, cluster algebras and defects

I'll review some connections between SL(N,C) Chern-Simons theory on knot complements and M5-brane theory in presence of certain supersymmetric defects, as they fit in the so called 3d-3d correspondence. As time allows, I'll comment on their relations with several areas of mathematics such as cluster algebra and the volume conjecture for various classes of 3-manifolds.
