I. QFT and String Theory Group Recruit Information

The Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ITP-CAS, Beijing) invites applications to fill one postdoc position in the area of QFT and String Theory. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in the area of scattering amplitudes. The initial appointment for the positions is for two years (starting no later than October 1st, 2022), with the possibility of a third-year extension. II. Soft Matter and Statistical Physics Group Recruit Information

Research Direction

1) Molecular simulations of glass materials. The aim is to understand structural and dynamical properties of certain glass materials (e.g., optical fiber ampler) that have potential industrial applications.

2) Machine learning soft matter. The aim is to study the predictability of plasticity/yielding in soft materials using machine learning techniques.

Qualifications

1) Ph. D. in physics or related field. 2) Research background in soft matter and/or statistical physics. 3) Prior experience in molecular dynamics simulations and/or machine learning is preferred.

III. QFT and String Theory Group Recruit Information

We invite applications for a (2+1 years) postdoctoral position in String theory/QFT/Mathematical Physics at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ITP-CAS) in Beijing, in the group of Wei Li.

Current faculty in the String/QFT group of ITP-CAS includes Song He, Yihong Gao, Wei Li, Gang Yang, and Ming Yu. In addition, the institute has around 40 faculty members working on particle phenomenology, cosmology, condense matter theory, quantum information, statistical physics and nonlinear dynamics, machine learning, among others.
