This booklet contains information pertaining to the ITP that we hope will be helpful to you during your stay. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our operation. Thank you.

Scientific Office: Mr.Xiao Fang ITP newbuilding(room 6310) oversees all the visitor issues of ITP. Tel: 8610-62582374 Email: fangxiao@itp.ac.cn

Check-In: When you arrive at ITP, please go to ITP new building 3st floor, 310 room to check-in and get your office key there. Please keep your office key carefully during your stay and don’t forget to return it before leaving ITP. Mr. Xiao Fang will help you to check-in.

ITP entrance: ITP is located on the east gate of the basic research campus, you can access ITP seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Please note that the office time is from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Per Diem: Xiao Fang will inform you or your cooperator by email when your Per Diem are ready. ITP provides Chinese yuan only.

Computing and phone service guide：(for visitors with office in the old bulding)

ITP Computing account: ITP provides desktops in the public computer room. Computing login and password are needed to access to the workstations located. If you plan to use the desktops, please go to room 221 to find our computer assistant to set one account for you.

Network access: We offer wireless network access in all areas of ITP building. If you prefer wired internet access for your laptop, please go to room 221 to find our computer assistant for help.

Printing: The ITP has laser printers available on 222. All printers offer a duplex option allowing double sided printing. Please don’t send multiple copies to the queue. Contact the information system office 219 if you have problems. For printer names, locations, duplex settings, and help setting up our laptop to print, refer to our information system office too. There is a color printer in room 223, please go 219 ask for help if you want to use it.

Copy machine: The copy machine is located on the 1st floor, Please ask for helf from the reception desk.

Phones: Every office has a phone, you can dial directly to get an outside line (in Beijing); Note that if you need to dial out of Beijing or international calls, please prepare IP card.

Fax machines: The institute fax machine is in No. 106, and available for your use during office time. If you are receiving an incoming fax, please go there to check it. Fax may be sent from this machine on weekdays between 8:30a.m. 12:00 and between 2:00p.m to 5:30 p.m. The fax number is 8610-62562587.

Computer assistants: Ms. Da Wang in Room219. Assist with general computing issues and provide specific web and database support. Tel: 62541867, Email: wangda@itp.ac.cn

Copy machine: The copy machine is located on the 5^th floor.

Computer Assistants: Room6317. Assist with general computing issues and provide specific web and database support. Tel: 62582365

Others :

Institute food: There are two dining halls located near ITP. One is Wuke dining hall, which is next to Wuke hotel. The first and second floor serve ordinary Chinese food three meals one day, but cash is not acceptable, only meal card acceptable. If you want to apply for the meal card, please ask help from Ling-Mei. On third floor and fourth floor, you can find Chinese food as well as Western food, cash is acceptable. Another dining hall is next to ITP main building, only Chinese food is served, cash acceptable.

Water: Boiled water is supplied by water-boiling machine on each floor. Please note that the tap water is undrinkable.

Transportation: If you are planning to do some sightseeing in Beijing, we advise you to choose taxi or subway for transportation. If you have any question or need our assistance, Ling-Mei may help you.

ATM and Banks: The nearest ATM locates in the D building (Institute of Physics, CAS), a red cylindrical building just at north side of WuKe hotel. And there is another one in the Academy of Mathematic and System Science, which is just neighbor to the Institute of theoretical Physics (ITP).

Medical care: If you don not have local health insurance and require medical care, you may seek medical services from the following resources: the hospital listed provide services 24 hours a day.

Return shipping expenses: The institute provides up to 100rmb in shipping expenses to return your scientific papers to your home institution (if mailed through the ITP). Please box and address your papers and give them to the mail assistant Miss Wen (in the lobby) for mailing.
