Abstract 摘要 | Space-time and Quantum Mechanics are the pillars of our understanding of fundamental physics, but there is evidence that these concepts may be approximate and replaced by something deeper. The study of scattering amplitudes in QFT gives us a theoretical playground where such questions can be sharply posed. I will describe a new formulation for the S-matrix that follows from mathematical structures in “positive geometry”, without local interactions in spacetime. Ranging from the “Amplituhedron” for N=4 SYM to “Associahedron-like” picture for a wide variety of massless theories, we will see in these examples how quantum mechanics and spacetime emerge hand-in-hand from more primitive, geometric origins. |
